Video, why?
Video coverage at your wedding might feel unnecessary or even uncomfortable. Please hear us out. We absolutely love getting to film weddings because it is such a powerful way to re-live your experience. Your wedding is among the most profound days of your life, yet it comes and goes all too quickly. Your wedding film can take you back to that day in a way that even the most perfect and beautiful photos can not.
What is our approach to filming a wedding? We think the value of a great wedding video is all about the human emotion. We shoot to capture the genuine emotion of your day in the most fun and natural way possible. Tears, smiles, laughs, winks, hugs, dance moves. These are the kind things we are looking for as we move through the day with you.
Okay, what does a wedding video look like?
Great question. Our favorite format is what we call a Highlight Film. The idea is to create a video that will take you through your day as holistically as possible, but at an action-packed pace so that it is fun and exciting to watch over and over again.
To achieve this we use all our favorite video footage of course, but most importantly we love to weave in as much heartfelt dialogue as we can from throughout the day. The officiant, your vows, the speeches. These words, coming from you and your loved ones, put so much power and emotion into your video.
Typically 3-6 minutes in length, the Highlight Film is the perfect wedding video to post, share, and keep coming back to for months, years, and decades.
What if our wedding is going to be more low-key?
We love capturing more intimate weddings. Just like any other wedding, the day comes and goes so quickly. So we feel it is just as important to capture in a video to relive for years to come. Plus, it can be a great way to share the day with the folks who missed the cut on the guest list or who were not able to attend.
A simpler day can also allow for some more creativity if you are up for it! This wedding with the lovely Allan & Victoria is a perfect example. They rented a vintage car and we got to spend time playing around shooting portraits and videos of them with the car. This was lots of fun for everyone, and added a super unique element to their video (starting at 1:20).
What if our wedding IS going to be a huge deal?
Destination wedding? Multiple days of festivities? All your friend and family under the sun? If you’re doing it big then you are probably wondering what video coverage might look like for you. What is important to capture? How many people will it take? What sort of finished video(s) will be best?
Let’s chat.
For larger events it is super important for us to connect on what you are doing and what matters most to you so we can make a plan to get you the perfect coverage and finished videos that you will cherish for ever.
